Background: The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and Lantmäteriet, the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority is carrying out the cooperation project “Capacity Building for Inclusive Land Administration and Management in Liberia”, funded by Sweden, via the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), represented by the Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia during the period from the 1st of January 2019 to the 31st of December 2023.
The project will have Swedish experts stationed in Liberia for the project implementation as well as short term experts coming for missions of 1-6 weeks each.

POSITION SUMMARY AND JOB PURPOSE
Under the direct supervision of the Lantmäteriet Resident Project Manager, the Mechanical Driver will be responsible for the following duties: • Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel. • Meet officials at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required. • Collect and deliver mail, documents, goods and other items. • Ensure that all vehicles comply with the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) in accordance with the Liberia Land Authority Security measures. • Take care of the day to day maintenance of assigned vehicles, cleaning, check oil, water, battery and brakes. • Log all trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, maintenance etc. • Follow all rules and regulations in relation to the administration of Liberia Land Authority and Lantmäteriet vehicles policies, including the Project Office Manual. • Understand, comply and update security routines to ensure high security and safety for all project co-workers. • Be a guide of Liberia for foreign visitors. • Assist project co-workers, especially Swedish experts, in practical issues such as phone operation, lunch arrangements, dinner’s arrangements, bookings and reservations, shopping, visa and work permit issues, social activities. • Perform other related duties as required. • Working hours will be flexible, meaning evenings, weekends and holidays when needed and this will not be financially compensated since it is considered as included in the salary.

Education, Training and Experience
• Minimum High School Certificate. • Driver’s License at least five (5) years old. • Training and/or experience in Mechanics is a requirement. • Experience from working with Nordic staff is considered valuable. • Experience from handling cash and receipts for international organizations. • At least five (5) years working experience as a Driver for a company, family or public service agency. • Knowledge of computer applications will be an added advantage.
Station: The position will be based at the Liberia Land Authority, Clay Building, Mamba Point, Sekou Toure Avenue, Monrovia, Liberia but will include travels throughout Liberia as needed.
Languages: Excellent English skills (read, write, speak and listen) and good communication skills in at least one local dialect.
