Monrovia, August 21, 2019 –A Professional Driver Is Needed for Recruitment

BACKGROUND: The Liberia Land Administration Project (LLAP) is supporting the Government of Liberia to strengthen the capacity of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and establish a land administration system. The Project will be financed through a World Bank grant of US$ 7 million. The Project start date is March 2018 with an expected project closure in October 2022.

Position Summary And Job Purpose

The Driver will provide support for the PIU and undertake the following:

• Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel. • Collect and deliver mail, documents, goods and other items. • Ensure that vehicle movement is in compliance with the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) in accordance with the Liberia Land Authority Security measures. • Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicle, including cleaning, oil check, battery, water, brakes, etc. • Log trips, mileage, designation, and other activities of vehicle movements. • Maintain complete record of materials used during service, repair etc., and date. • Follow all rules and regulations in relation to the administration of Liberia Land Authority and the GoL vehicle policies. • Understand, comply with and update security routines to ensure high security and safety for all passengers • Be knowledgeable of preventive maintenance of vehicle. • Serve as guide for foreign visitors. • Assist project co-workers, especially international experts, in practical issues such as phone operation, lunch arrangements, dinner arrangement, bookings and reservations, shopping, and social activities. • Liaise with relevant authority to prepare a vehicle service schedule and ensure timely service/repair. • Perform other related duties as required.

DURATION OF THE SERVICES:

The Driver is to be hired for a period of one year with a renewable contract if performance is satisfactory. The services will be provided on a full-time basis.

Qualification and Skills Requirements

• Able to work under minimal supervision, proactive and take initiatives. • Reliable, integrity, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment and energy. • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment. • Good organizational, planning and time management skills. • Excellent interpersonal and social skills, including ability to work in a team and have good communication skills. • Maintain confidentiality at all times. • Excellent experience of driving in rough terrine and under pressure.

Education, Training and Experience:

The Driver will have the following minimum educational and professional qualifications and experience:

• Good writing and reading ability • Valid license and possesses older license up to five years. • Experience in working with international organizations. • At least five (5) years working experience as a driver for a company, family or public service agency • Knowledge of computer applications will be an added advantage. • Station: The position will be based at the Liberia Land Authority, Clay Building, Mamba Point, Sekou Toure Avenue, Monrovia, Liberia but the job will include traveling outside of Montserrado County when the need arises.

Reporting Obligation:

The Driver will report to the PIU Project Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant who is responsible for office organization. In regard to the working relationship of the Driver with other staff members, the incumbent is expected to be self-sufficient and conduct him/herself in the highest professional manner

Languages:

Excellent English skills (read, write, speak and listen) and good communication skills in at least one local dialect.
