Monrovia, October 12, 2019: Stakeholders in the land sector will on Monday begin a three-day technical session to review and validate the Guide for Systematic Land Titling in Liberia.
The Guide was developed by the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) in support and fulfilment of the Draft National Regulation for Land Governance in Liberia.
The workshop, which takes place at the Salvation Army Polytechnic opposite the Monrovia City Hall in Sinkor, is organized by the LLA in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), LANDESA and Rights and Rice Foundation (RRF).
LLA Chairman designate, Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr. has expressed optimism that the workshop will allow land actors to critically review the Draft Guide and build consensus on uniformity in engaging communities to implement a number of land rights recognition and land titling requirements as provided for in the Land Rights Act.
Several partners including representatives of the Civil Society Working Group on Land Rights Reform in Liberia, the European Union (EU) as well as commissioners and technical staff of the LLA are expected to attend the workshop.
