Monrovia, January 25, 2020: Three persons have been arrested for falsifying the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) payment receipts used for land deed registration.
Those apprehended as suspects undergoing investigation at the Liberia National Police (LNP) are Daniel Wheh, Mohamed Faika and Uriah Potter, an employee of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA). Others said to be linked to the organized crime are on the run.
The criminal cartel to deprive government of needed revenue was uncovered by the Chairman of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA), Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr. following physical check of two separate receipts purportedly from the LRA.
The LLA Chairman has vowed to weed out all those involved with malpractices at the LLA in order to promote accountability and integrity within the institution.
