Monrovia, January 30, 2020: The Vice Chair of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA), Hon. Philomena Bloh Sayeh has taken over office.

The Liberian Senate recently confirmed Hon. P. Bloh Sayeh as Vice Chair and Atty. J. Adams Manobah as Chairman of the Authority.

At a Senior Management Meeting (SMT) held at the LLA office, Tuesday January 21, where Hon Sayeh officially was introduced, she expressed thanks for her preferment by the President, His Excellency George Weah to the post and looks forward to a cordial working relationship amongst the staff.

Ms. Sayeh noted that, there is a need to build an internal management system and a cadastral for the LLA so as to make the most impact in the land sector. As the authority grows, we all need to intensify our efforts by acknowledging that we owe our country, said emphasized.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Authority, Atty. J. Adams Manobah welcomed Hon. Sayeh and informed her of the various projects that are currently being implemented by the Authority with support from donors and partners.

He said the government lacks the needed funds currently to fully implement the Land Rights Act, hence, the LLA will continue to seek the goodwill of donors and partners to assist.

Prior to their ascendency to the posts, Atty. J. Adams Manobah served as Vice Chair of the LLA while P. Bloh Sayeh, an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Liberia, in recent past served as Director General of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA).

Both Chairman Manobah and Vice Chair Bloh Sayeh are coming to the posts with wealth of experiences in the land sector particularly in land governance, land administration and customers’ services.

The LLA was established in 2016 to develop policies on a continuous basis, undertake actions and implement programs in support of land governance, including land administration and management.

The LLA now has a full Board of five Commissioners and an Executive Director who are committed to carry out their functions and duties unabated. The main mandate areas are: Land Administration, Land Use and Management, Policy and Planning and Administration and Customer Services.
