Monrovia, January 31, 2020: LLA Commissioners on working visit to Sweden
As part of the implementation of the Inclusive Land Administration Project (ILAMP), the Chairman of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA), Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr., along with three Commissioners, namely; Hon. Ellen O. Pratt, Commissioner for Land Use and Management, Cllr. Kula L. Jackson, Commissioner for Policy, Planning and Program, and Hon. J. Josephus Burgess, Sr., Commissioner for Land Administration are in Sweden for a week-long working visit.
The visit is sponsored by the Inclusive Land Administration Management Project (ILAMP), a Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) funded-project.
The project (ILAMP), is currently being implemented in Liberia by the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral Survey and Land Registration Authority (Lantmäteriet) in collaboration with the Liberia Land Authority (LLA).
The working visit, which commenced on January 26, 2020, will focus on reviewing the 1st draft of the LLA “Annual Wheel” with activities related to structures and procedures in government.
The LLA Commissioners will also share their experiences and mutual understanding of the connection between the LLA’s Five Year Strategic Plan and its related activities and outputs and other donors’ projects and related activities.
Description for capacity development and learning concepts that will permeate ILAMP throughout the project’s implementation period as well as introduction of the LLA’s Customer Services will also be discussed.
The LLA Board of Commissioners will deliberate on draft suggestions on behavioral change within LLA that supports the transformation of the Authority towards becoming effective and efficient.
Additionally, results from the Gender and Human Resource workshop that were documented and agreed upon including those agreed action plan for the next steps will be reviewed and approved.
The Director General of Lantmäteriet and the LLA Commissioners will review and approve the 1st draft plan for the use of Integrated Geospatial Information Framework & Frame for Effective Land Administration, description of how Lantmäteriet work with strategy, plans and change management as well as appreciation of Liberian context and the LLA.
Furthermore, the working visit will cover activities including but not limited to, discussion with the Lantmäteriet Director General on the Liberia Land Authority and the challenges related to land, introduction to the management and governance of Lantmäteriet, leadership and management at Lantmäteriet, visit to the Customer Service, update and planning methodology at the LLA, introduction to IGIF & FELA, workshop on Gender and HR, capacity building and activity plan for 2020, change management at LLA, and as well as summarization and development of action plan, amongst others.
The one-week working visit, which is expected to end on February 1, 2020, is intended to encourage, motivate and inspire management knowledge through technical training for the delivery of smooth land services at the LLA.
