THE LIBERIA LAND AUTHORITY CONDUCTS THREE DAYS TRAINING WORKSHOP ON THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ON THE LAND RIGHTS ACT AND THE LIBERIA LAND AUTHORITY ACT

The Liberia Land Authority with support from the World Bank funded Liberia Land Administration Project will conduct 3-days intensive training workshop in Gbarnga City, Bong County from the 7-9 of October 2020. The training will broadly focus on the dissemination of information on the Land Rights Act (LRA) of 2018 and the Liberia Land Authority Act (LLAA) of 2016, with specific training on land rights, customary land governance, women’s land rights, community engagement, and communications. The training is phase 1 of the nation-wide awareness on the LRA and LLA which will be followed by roll out in selected communities throughout the fifteen counties of Liberia.

The objective of workshop is to train and create awareness amongst targeted groups, including local government officials, journalists, community mobilizers, civil society representatives and LLA staff who will ultimately educate residents of communities to increase public awareness and understanding of the two laws.

Similar regional training workshops are expected to be held soon in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County; Bentol, Montserrado County; and Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.

The LLA appreciates the World Bank for such timely support and remains committed to ensuring that the program is carried in a timely and efficient manner through its Communication & Outreach Team.

The LLA remains resolute when it comes to land related information dissemination especially on the LRA & the LLA Acts in and around Liberia which in return will remedy the numerous land conflicts and promote peace that will further enhance the economic growth and stability of Liberia.

The general public is encouraged to visit the official website of the Authority at www.lla.gov.lr and social media platforms for further update.
