Under the Liberia Land Administration and Governance Support Project-support to the establishment and functioning of the Liberia Land Authority, which began implementation in late 2017, the UNDP supported several interventions aimed at operationalizing the LLA. The interventions or outputs include the following:

  • Mapping of existing land use in two customary communities in Grand Cape Mount County

  • Development of administrative procedures and policies, including for procurement, financial management and HR 

  • Development of Land Governance regulations-sale and lease of public and government land, and zoning regulations

  • Development of LLA’s five years (2018-2023) Strategic Plan

  • Development of frameworks for land use planning

  • Assessment of the technical capacity of land professionals-human resources capacity building plan

  • Provision of furniture and fixtures for LLA central office

  • UNDP through IOM-Support to the establishment of Zorzor office and gender unit at the LLA-few furniture and fixtures

  • UNDP through IOM-development of Communication Strategy and outreach on the Authority in three regions of the country (Maryland, Grand Kru, Sinoe Grand Gedeh; Nimba and Lofa; and Montserrado and Cape Mount)
