Lantmäteriet, the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority, a governmental agency, is implementing the Capacity Building for Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project in collaboration with the Liberia Land Authority (LLA). The mission for Lantmäteriet is to give support for creating an efficient and sustainable use of Sweden’s real properties, land and water. The organization has three main activities, which also form the organizational structure: Cadastral services, Geodata and Land registration. Support for these activities is provided by corporate functions. The total staff of Lantmäteriet is today approximated at 2,150. Lantmäteriet has about 50 offices in Sweden.

Lantmäteriet’s International Services Department focuses mainly on cooperation with sister organizations in developing countries, through funding provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

The strategic aim of this work is to contribute towards fighting poverty and supporting economic development. Currently, Lantmäteriet International Services is engaged with projects in 15 different countries around the world, mainly in Eastern Europe, Western Balkans and Africa.
