March 1st, 2022, Monrovia City: Message Of Condolence

The Chairman and Members of the Board of Commissioners (BoC) and the Staff of the Liberia Land Authority extend deepest condolences to the Sawyer’s Family for the death of Dr. Amos Claudius Sawyer, former President, Interim Government of National Unity (IGNU) of Liberia; former Chairman, Governance Commission of Liberia; acclaimed academic; and an astute Statesman.

The late Dr. Amos Claudius Sawyer was a renowned academic political Scientist, famous for his theories for building the Liberian State through policy, legal, and institutional reforms of the governance system, and was also famous for his practical work at the Governance Commission, where his dreams for Liberia not only flow from idealisms / theories but also from good analysis of the Liberian environment.

During his leadership at the Governance Commission, the former Land Commission was established, and started the land reform process of Liberia. The late Dr. Amos C. Sawyer was also instrumental as Chairman of the Governance Commission, in the establishment of the Liberia Land Authority, which is currently leading reforms in the Land Sector of Liberia.

May his soul and all sainted departed rest in perpetual peace.
