Dr. Mahmoud Solomon (Commissioner)
Honorable Mahmoud Solomon (Ph.D.) was appointed by His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and confirmed by the Liberian Senate in 2024 as Commissioner for Land Administration at the Liberia Land Authority (LLA). Commissioner Solomon is a compassionate, disciplined, and enthusiastic Geomatic Engineer with extensive experience in spatial data infrastructure, information technology, analytics, and mathematical modelling. His expertise spans geospatial technologies, land administration, and information technology systems, and is committed to using his training and expertise to bring order and efficiency to the land sector.
EDUCATION
Commissioner Solomon holds a Ph.D. from the University of Lagos, Nigeria (2019) in Surveying and Geoinformatics, a Master of Science (MSc) in Geomatic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana (2013), and Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Liberia Monrovia (2009). He is a proud product of Lott Carey Baptist Mission in Brewerville.
Commissioner Solomon has also participated in many international workshops and seminars the United States, South Africa and India. In March 2025, Dr. Solomon participated in an Executive Course under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) Gurugram, India, where he earned a certificate in Land Governance.
Commissioner Solomon’s goal is developing and implementing systems that enhance transparency, accuracy, and fairness in land administration thereby contributing to sustainable peace and development in the context of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).
