The LLA has Commenced the implementation of Customary Land Formalization in Sixty (60) communities across five (5) counties as Local Authority and Joint Security in B'Hai Administrative District celebrate government intervention.

Lofa County: April 17, 2024 – Thousands of residents, including local authority, traditional leaders, senior elders, and women and youth groups in Fesibu Community expressed great joy after the LLA through USAID-Liberia funded-Land Management Activity (LMA) Project, issued Fesibu community its Statutory Land Deed after the successful completion of the steps and processes required for Customary Land Formalization (CLF) as enshrined in the Land Rights Act (LRA) of 2018.

The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has successfully concluded a week-long training program on drone technology aimed at enhancing its land surveying capabilities. The training which was supported by the Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project (ILAMP), witnessed the LLA collaborate with its partner (Lantmätariet), the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority through ILAMP to procure a state-of-the-art drone. The drone procured is aimed at modernizing land administration practices and efficient and accurate land surveying processes in the country.

The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) over the weekend issued eight (8) Statutory Land Deeds to eight Customary Communities in Nimba, Sinoe, Maryland and Grand Cape Mount Counties under the project “Sustaining Peace and Reconciliation through Land Governance and Dispute Resolution Mechanism”, a three-year project supported and financed by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF). The Chairman of the LLA Hon. Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr. at the official presentation ceremony held at the Peace Hall in Gompa City, Nimba County, expressed thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic of the Liberia H. E. Dr. George M. Weah, and the 54th Legislature for passing and signing into law the Land Rights Act of 2018. He said the signing of the LRA became a fundamental step to Liberia’s land reform. The LLA Boss further expressed thanks and appreciation to the PBF, UNDP, WFP and UN-Women for the provision of financial and technical supports.

Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County:  The Chairman of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) Hon. Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr., during his opening remarks at the just ended Gender Mainstreaming Workshop for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community Base Organizations (CBOs), Local Journalists, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in Grand Bassa County called for more awareness on Women's Land Rights in Liberia as enshrined in the Land Rights Act (LRA) of 2018.

Voinjama City, Lofa County:  The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) with support from the Swedish Government through the Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project (ILAMP) being implemented by Lantmätariet of Sweden, on Friday, May 5, 2023 officially opened its County Land Office (CLOs) in Voinjama City, Lofa County.

Gbarnga City, Bong County:  LLA commenced training on existing land laws, regulations, guidelines, and media engagement and techniques in Gbarnga City, Bong County.

Gbarnga City, Bong County:  The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) with support from the Swedish Government through the Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project (ILAMP) being implemented by Lantmätariet of Sweden, will on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 officially launch its County Land Office (CLOs) in Gbarnga City, Bong County.
