LLA visited the AME Zion University main campus in Bomi County

September 8, 2022, Bomi County:  Information dissemination and awareness are key to the implementation of the Land Rights Act of 2018, the LLA Act of 2016, and the Act Against the Criminal Conveyance of Land, including other land-related laws, policies, regulations and guidelines. Liberia's land reform can only be successful if the people and the government work collectively to ensure the right thing is done within the sector.

Further, in our quest to inform, educate and sensitize the general public across the fifteen subdivisions of the country, a technical team of LLA visited the AME Zion University main campus in Bomi County and lectured on the LLA Act, LRA, AACCL, including the functions, mandate, responsibilities, vision, mission, and objective of the LLA and its services.

The team comprised Dr. M. Solomon, Assistant Director for Mapping and Survey, LLA, Tetteh Kwashe, Public Relations Officer, LLA, D. Siafa Draper, Technical Assistant, Office of the Chairman, LLA, and Emmanuel Chedeh Davis, Head, Communications, and Outreach Division, LLA.

However, at the end of the lecture, Mrs. Kebeh Nyensuah, Dean of Students Affairs, AME Zion University, on behalf of the Management, Staff, and Students of the University, thanked and appreciated the team for coming and applauded the LLA for the level of work being done in the country. She further stated that the lecture on the laws is just the first of many to come.

"Let me say thanks to the Honourable Chairman of the LLA for sending such a great team to us. Trust me, we are immediately planning another one at our campus in Monrovia. We need this information, especially information about women's rights to land ownership, the categories of land, and who are heading the LLA at both the national and county level. Trust me, if the students are informed and educated, a whole generation is informed. This is why we are counting on the Board of Commissioners of the LLA to now take this to all universities in the country. Please LLA, help our students know these basic clauses enshrined in the Land Rights Act that speaks to their rights." She added.

Note: Our goal is to take this lecture to every university, government ministry, and agency, including junior and senior high schools beginning with Montserrado County.
