LLA Commences Orientation Training on Operational and Administrative Manuals

November 14, 2022, Gbarnga:  The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) with support from Lantmätarient, the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority, through the Capacity Building for Inclusive Land Administration and Management Project (ILAMP), has commenced a two-day orientation training workshop on LLA-approved Operational and Administrative Manuals sponsored by the World Bank through the Liberia Land Administration Project (LLAP) for staff of LLA County Offices in Gbarnga City, Bong County.

The event brought together staff from across nine LLA county land offices, namely, Lofa, Nimba, Bong, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Gbarpolu, Grand Bassa, Rivercess, Margibi and Montserrado Counties, respectively.

During the official opening of the two-day event, the city mayor of Gbarnga City, Bong County, Hon. Lucia Herbert praised the LLA for the level of work done over the years and called on the leadership to continue to do more.

She welcomed the LLA family into the county and asked that participants remain peaceful throughout their stay.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Commissioners and staff of the LLA, Hon. Atty. J. Adams Manobah, Sr., Chairman, LLA, firstly expressed thanks and appreciation to the World Bank and Lantmätariet-ILAMP project team for the development of the manuals and the organisation of the two days event. He further called on all staff of the LLA to act on the One-LLA vision. He said it comes with protecting the image of the LLA.

Chairman Manobah further said that the law calls for the decentralisation of the functions of the LLA, which directly supports national government policy on decentralisation, thus this shows how vital our county land offices and staff are to the operation of the LLA in the country.

"It is not just about new training but how we all can work together as a team to make sure this teamwork is in the interest of the Liberian people. This is why I continue to say that the purpose of these two days is to work together and make sure that we can not only come on time to our job sites but hence how we can improvise for each other in the team when the other is down." He added.

Chairman Manobah after receiving a huge round of applause from the staff of the LLA after he announced that the LLA again maintained a passing grade (77%) under the Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) scorecard, added that said achievement is a result of every single staff of the Authority.

The objective: To provide an overview of LLA's approved operational and administrative manuals.

Day one (1) of the training focuses on the presentation of the LLA Human Resource, M & E and Performance Management System Manuals.
