Led by the County Land Administrator, Hon. Jonah Wreh Segbe, Jr., the outreach targets key government actors and community stakeholders, including the Office of the Mayor, District and Township Commissioners, Civil Society Organizations, Women and Youth Groups, and the National Independent Commission on Human Rights (NICHR).
However, central to the engagement is the introduction of the LLA Policy Handbook and public education on core legal instruments shaping Liberia’s land reform agenda. Stakeholders were briefed on the Land Rights Act, the LLA Act, and the Act Against the Criminal Conveyance of Land, including its services and functions. The exercise is designed to promote transparency, reduce land disputes, and protect legitimate land ownership.
To ensure broad public reach, the team engaged local radio platforms, including Voice of Truth Radio, creating an interactive space for citizens to ask questions and clarify concerns. However, over 150 participants joined the discussions during the the team's community engagement meeting held in Pleebo City, reflecting strong public interest in accountable land governance.
Hon. Segbe, Jr., and his team awareness rollout is directly in line with LLA LRA -Communication Strategy developed by the LLA’s Communication and Outreach Division. Many stakeholders have said that as land reform deepens, these sustained grassroots engagement underscores a clear message to the national government, development partners and the public that effective land governance is foundational to economic growth, conflict prevention, and sustainable national progress.
Further, Hon Jonah Segbe and his team has reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that no one is left out. He said his engagement in the county is directly in line the LLA Chairman's vision for accountable and transparent land services, and strict adherence to the legal and regulatory framework governing land administration.
